The Blackbird

A square format of a blackbird vintage song sheet etc enclosing dried pressed botanicals. I then rubbed on various paints which picked up on the free motion stitching to attach it all together.

If you want to be creative - envelope.

Created this as an envelope then added the quote etc.  Papers dyed with left over printer ink. Used free motion stitching to tie it all together. Click on image to see details of the work.

Botanical Journal Cover.

This is a first in my "Botanical Series" Journals. Sandwiched the dried bleeding heart and leaves then did the free motion machine stitching. Finished it off by adding a punched border and some fibers on the coil binding. Gave it to a friend as a journal. Oh what fun. Stay posted - I am working like crazy making all kinds of these of which I will share in future postings.
