Glass Pendants - Letters D, B and N

Made my own glass pendants.  Presented as a collage with my own green and black digital background.

Used vintage lace for these pendants with the letters F and M printed on a transparency before concealing with the glass. I love using these to hang on the lamp switch - so you can quickly find it to turn the lamp off or on. Make unusual gifts for the same purpose.

Botanical gift box cover.

This is the top of a gift box which I did in various green Glimmer Mists by Tattered Angels. For the window I did the botanical theme, concealing the pressed drieds and music paper. Punched 2 holes in bottom of window area to tie the hand made music ribbon. This makes a wonderful gift box where I often place one of my journals, a bookmark, a glass pendant, gift tag, kleenex pack and a music title clothespin of which all are handmade. The box can be used by the recipient for storing other things later. Watch for more ways that I have decorated these gift boxes.

3 glass pendants with solder tinted.

I used some very old sheet music that I hand dyed. Images on left and right cut out from a magazine. Center rose image from Dover. Tinted the solder as to not look like original silver.

Tinted the solder after it was done with alcohol inks using a foam applicator attached to the end of an old pen. You can see the difference between the two. The one on left blends with the bird image I used.

More Glass Pendants

I enjoyed making more of these pendants, this time adding some beads etc to the bottom. I like hanging these from the switch on lamps. You then know exactly where to reach for the switch!

GLASS PENDANTS

GLASS PENDANTS: Made these using only one piece of glass! On the reverse side I used TLS (Translucent Liquid Sculpey) by Sculpey.com found at our local craft store. I printed an image on cardstock with my Laserjet printer. In Photoshop I make sure the image is 1 1/2 inches square. I then cut out the image and applied a coat of TLS - ensuring the entire surface is coated. I do them in batches of aprox 10. Lay on a cookie sheet covered with parchment or wax paper. Baked for 25 minutes at 325 F. Allow to cool off then sandwich with glass piece and letter printed on a transparency.
The letter S for example was printed on a sheet of transparency in "mirror" setting with printer setting of "transparency" as well.
Applied tape around this sandwich and soldered which is another story. Note: When I apply the tape I burnish on all sides. These need to be washed with soap and water after soldered and if not burnished the water can get in between. That is okay if a little gets in - it will eventually evaporate but you don't want a lot. That is why I print with a Laserjet. Now I also print with inkjet and to prevent water damage to paper image I coat both sides of paper after printed with Dorland's Wax Medium by Jacquardproducts.com. This seals the ink. Applied the wax with a circular motion and allow to dry before enclosing in Pendant.
Will post more later about how I color the solder to match the picture inside.
