Always Be A Little Kinder - Quote

Created this mixed media page for my quote book. Primed illustration board with Golden's Matte Gel Medium. Used magazine scraps, free hand diamond design, stencilled the bottom with Golden's Molding Paste. Attached a photo of a copy right free image with ribbon.

Tray and tea pot still life by Sandra.

Made this tray using designer tissue paper. In the upper left hand corner I glued a vintage necklace. Added a sheet of glass to protect the embellishments and added beads to cover the glued edges.
Processed in Photoshop elements 9 using Topaz Adjust 5 – Toned Collection; Vintage.

Lady in music by the garden bench.

Do you remember those old plastic curtains from the 50’s? I actually scooped this as it was on it’s way to the dumpster. Scanned it into PC using HP Scanjet G3110. Processed with Photoshop Elements 9 blending several layers together.

Reading the letter - embroidered crazy patchwork heart.

Embroidered the crazy quilt patchwork with various stitches and beads. Incorporated many pieces from vintage handkerchiefs such as the border around lady image.

Silhouette of two lovers looking at the stars.

Used my own background which I created by laying leaves on watercolor paper and spraying with watercolor paints. The leaves act as a “mask”.
Blended the layers together in Photoshop Elements 9.

Music patchwork encaustic wall hanging.

I used very old sheet music which I ripped and gilded the edges before adhering with bees wax to create a patchwork collage look. Applied Golden's Gel Medium to the back the of girl image so the music would only slightly show through her light colored garment. Substrate used: Gallery canvas which I wrapped the paper around to the back to give the sides a finish.
Centre image from a vintage music magazine from 1930's. Scanned it into pc and printed it on tissue paper.
Because this is wax, every once in a while I polish it with a soft cloth. Thanks for reading.
