This is the top of a gift box which I did in various green Glimmer Mists by Tattered Angels. For the window I did the botanical theme, concealing the pressed drieds and music paper. Punched 2 holes in bottom of window area to tie the hand made music ribbon. This makes a wonderful gift box where I often place one of my journals, a bookmark, a glass pendant, gift tag, kleenex pack and a music title clothespin of which all are handmade. The box can be used by the recipient for storing other things later. Watch for more ways that I have decorated these gift boxes.

Tea time tray using designer dinner tissue napkins.
I made this tray using several designer tissue napkins cut up and placed around the words "Tea Time" which I printed on tissue also. Sealed the entire surface with several coats of Golden's Polymer Varnish with UVLS (Matte). Put the "ball" feet on to give it a little extra look. Finished the back with a crackle finish. Journal with Crazy Quilt music related vintage paper cover.
Used some vintage papers from a very old music magazine to create this cover. Once done I gave it a coat of gesso to fade out the text etc before stamping it. If you would like the piece before I gessoed it please visit my RUSTIC PIXEL BACKGROUNDS blog and use as you please.

White multi textured storage box.
Used a stencil to create this diamond texture. I love white on white! Finished edge with some gimp styled trim.
Used a different stencil for the top then sealed with several coats of Crystal Clear Waterborne Diamond Wood Finish by Varathane. (Actually intended for wood but works good on this type of surface as well.) I like it because it does not have a oil base odor and can be used in the winter and not have to have the windows open. When the surface gets dusty I just wipe it with a slightly damp cloth or vacuum it. I love my boxes - I use this one to store some of my trim in.

Music themed crazy quilt heart.

Still learning to crazy quilt with all the different stitches. My favorite part is "framing" the center piece photo so they all will be different. Did a iron on transfer with the word "music" on the bottom center then stitched with gold thread. Used a gold netting overlay around center piece just to add something different. Thanks for reading!

Music pedestal with vintage Sunflower Song cover
The above is a vintage sheet music cover approximately 75 years old. I just love the fonts used on these.
If you look close you will see some texture. I did this with a background stamp while the gold paint is still wet. The paper is from a vintage music magazine advertising music schools offered back in the early 1900's. This paper was then attached to Yupo paper then cut with decorative scissors. Stay posted to see what else I did with similiar ones.

Butterflies journal made with Yupo paper.
The cover on this journal is made with Yupo watercolor paper. Hand stitched it onto a layer of illustration board. The butterflies (from Somerset Studio magazine freebie insert) were applied using the image transfer technique. The letters forming "Journal" were cut with the alphabet die cut on my cuttlebug on label sheets. Once cut I peeled off the paper and pressed them down at random then painted over the entire Yupo paper surface. The heart I cut from mylar just by hand then ran through one of the embossing folders on my cuttlebug. It will act as a bookmark. Thanks for reading!
